Objects have the power of carrying memories across space, time, culture and generations. They tell me stories, many different stories. Particular objects work as vessels of holding my own memories and emotions. My emotions can be accentuated by depicting them. Meanings can be made by sculpting them. Then my memory gets thick and vivid by sharing them.
My father had strong childhood memory on American sweets. He experienced Korean war as a kid. It was dreadful, however American sweets were some kind of relief to my father. He always told me how sweet they were and how he got more them than other kids. Now he had gone. But whenever I see those colorful sweet imported candies, I think of my father and how once he was a happy boy. Objects have the power of carrying memories across space, time, culture and generations.
